Max came to us after being dropped off at a County Shelter. His previous owners could not afford the medical care for him. He was not keeping food in his stomach and didn’t want Max around their child, so they decided to surrender him. Max was going to be euthanized and was only given one day. We took him in to our rescue and had to do many tests and visits to the veterinarian to find a way to manage his challenges. Max has Megaesophagus which is a condition that causes the esophagus to become abnormally enlarged and lose its ability to move food into the stomach. The most common symptom of megaesophagus is regurgitation, which can occur unexpectedly, including when asleep.  His foster mom Anita found the “magic” bullet that works, it is no longer an issue or concern for Max.

After a couple of months we can say, we found how to make sure he eats and keeps his food down. We spent over $2,500 for his care. As you probably know, Frenchie’s are very delicate and need pet parents who can afford them. We are hoping that someone will adopt Max and give him a great life he deserves. He is young and the funniest little guy.

This is what his foster Mom has to say about him:

Max has the sweetest and most loving personality.  He is very devoted to his humans and cannot receive enough love.  He enjoys sleeping with you and will love on you for quite some time before moving to the bottom of the bed.  However, be aware, you may get loving in the night if he feels he needs to be loved on.  He will lay across your body and just wait for you to make your move!  Once you give him his much-needed love, he will go right back to sleep.  I can now do this while I am still asleep, a couple of gentle pats and a squeeze and he is off to the bottom or side of you! LOL   Max is not a licker kisser; he likes to place his head against your face for kisses.  He is just a bundle of LOVE!   His personality is HUGE.  He is playful and loves balls.  His favorite is the WHOLLY ROLLER.  This is a tough ball that is a soft rubber, can be chewed and indestructible (no picking up stuffing throughout the house).  He is very good at killing any stuffed toy pulling out the guts immediately.  Max is a professional “thief”.  He loves to grab a channel changer, dog bowl, anything handy that will make you chase him.  He has NEVER chewed anything in my house,  he is just a grab and run.  He will look at you with those big gorgeous loving eyes that say, “you want it, come and get it sucker!” … the chase is on.  Max gets along with other dogs but definitely needs his own human. He does not do well with cats and definitely NO BIRDS. Max still needs work on potty training.  However, he is doing much better and utilizes a doggy door.  He is so SMART.  I pushed him through to the other side and he stood there for a few minutes and then bulldozed his way back. I didn’t even get a chance to provide him with a coaxing treat.  He just wanted to be back by my side and figured it out.  He has used it ever since.

Max is a wonderful Frenchie who deserves to have a wonderful loving home.  Anyone who ends up with Max will be blessed.  He has so much love to give and is so appreciative of everything you do for him.  He would be a wonderful addition to your family.

Max’s vet bills initially were quite high, and we are hoping someone will be able to adopt him and understand we are only trying to recuperate part of the bills. His adoption fee is $1,800. If you wish to help him and us and decide you can’t adopt him that is fine as well and you could make a donation helping him in the future. Just email us at pets@findahomegiveahome.com to learn how to help the little guy!!! He deserves a great home. Thanks for the consideration.
