Find a Home Give a Home - Pet Rescue

Tonka came from an Indian tribe and was used for hunting. He never had a puppy life and was caged all the time. When he came to us he was emaciated and filled up since. He is in a house and everyday is a big discovery for him. He loves his toys, small gentle dogs. Just a sweetheart. Would not do good in a crazy home with lots of kids running around.. He is a beautiful dog and we are not sure about his breed. He has a heart of gold. This is a note from his foster Mom:

Hi, I’m Tonka. I believe that I am just under 2 years old and I’m eager to please my forever parent/family. While in foster care I have been learning new skills. I am crate trained, not food aggressive with humans, and I’ve almost perfected loose leash walks. I love being outside walking, jogging, or just sunbathing.
I haven’t lived with any of those…hmmm…what are they called? Oh yes, children so I don’t know if they will agree with me. I have a doggie best friend, her name is Greta and we get great and I am getting over my shyness with the other dogs in the neighborhood.
What I am looking for in a forever home is someone to love me, spoil me and be patient with me because I’m still young. I love learning and I can be easily motivated with food, so I would love to learn new tricks and skills. Please contact the rescue to find out more information on how I can be the newest addition to your life!
Thank you,
Tonka
