Teddy is a lucky boy!! Not fan of man so will need to be adopted by a woman only- cats are welcome.
We have never seen a dog with so many painful mats covering his little body. Teddy, an 18 lb pup estimated to be around 4 years old, had to be sedated just to be shaved — that’s how uncomfortable he was. Our vet removed nearly 7 lbs of matted fur, and underneath was a completely different dog waiting to shine.
Teddy has likely endured years of neglect, possibly kept in a crate in a garage. His hearing is good, though his vision may be slightly impaired. Right now, he just needs patience, space, and love. A small yard would be ideal so he can explore and relax at his own pace.
A little note from his foster Mom:
When we first saw Teddy he was a terrified, confused little dog.
With patience and time, Teddy’s personality is shining bright. Teddy loves his squeaker toys and engaging in tug of war and fetch.
He is a well trained dog. He is leash trained and will lay down as you put the lead on and off. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and lay down. He is very pleasant to walk, with his cute “body wag” as he trots down the road.
He is house broken and will sit by the door when he is in need of a walk.
We have a 15 year old ginger cat and they get along just fine by basically ignoring each other. He was never aggressive towards her, just curious.
He only barks when he hears us returning to the house and at the yard man once a week.
Teddt is extremely smart and playful and will make an excellent companion. He is totally an indoor dog, just goes outside for his business and then heads back to the door.
He likes car rides, sitting quietly in the back seat.
Teddy, after having a rough go for awhile, is bouncing back and is ready to be a loyal, loving, joyful companion to the right person. He is just too cute!
His adoption fee is $200. He is neutered and fully vetted.
